What happens if I get divorced?
If you get divorced, you can take account of your pension benefits in your divorce settlement in one of the following ways:
- Offset the value of your pension against other assets.
- Attach an order for future payment to your ex-spouse (or former registered civil partner) against your pension rights.
- Share pension rights at the time of divorce.
You should request information on the value of your pension benefits at the time divorce proceedings begin. If you require more information about how your pension benefits may be affected by divorce, please contact the Group Pensions team.
